Thomas began his career at the UK retail giant through a graduate scheme, eventually transitioning into the support centre to focus on retail technology. Over the past decade, he spearheaded projects ranging from store modernization and operating model transformations to improving stock accuracy and pandemic-era agility. His tenure within the Retail Domain team culminated in a recent shift in the operating model, which he views as a foundational move for the company’s future.
In his new capacity, Thomas will lead innovation efforts across the entire Data and Technology division. Moving away from his long-standing focus on store-level logistics and customer-colleague interactions, he now turns his attention to the broader technological architecture of M&S. He expressed enthusiasm for the challenge of applying his retail experience to a wider organizational scope, framing the transition as a natural evolution of his two-decade tenure at the firm.
