The disaster has left a trail of destruction across 500 municipalities, resulting in 329 deaths and over 4,500 injuries. According to the Unidad Nacional para la Gestion del Riesgo, 234 individuals remain missing in the wake of the tremors. Kotaro Tameda, President and CEO of the New York-based firm, stated that the company feels compelled to assist given its established operational footprint and network of employees within the country.
Beyond the corporate donation, the company has initiated an internal giving campaign to facilitate further contributions from its workforce. These individual donations will be supplemented by the firm’s existing matching gift program, effectively doubling the impact of employee-led support. The company intends for these resources to provide immediate relief to front-line responders working to stabilize the affected regions.
