Guild Bridges Gap Between BIZBOK and ArchiMate Standards

As firms shift toward repository-based transformation, the lack of a shared language has often forced teams to rework models or grapple with inconsistent data interpretations. By establishing a common framework for representing business architecture within ArchiMate, the Guild intends to help practitioners spend less time reconciling disparate models and more time on strategic decision-making.

The guide, developed by the Guild’s Metamodel Team, provides detailed mappings across all business domains. Elnaz Amani, a senior business architect at the University of Cambridge, noted that the resource allows practitioners to apply BIZBOK concepts without diluting their original intent. Adam Bajer, a lead business architect at a European public agency, added that this alignment is essential for evolving from static artifacts into connected knowledgebases that support real-time operations. The guide is now available via the Business Architecture Guild Learning Center, accompanied by a two-part webinar series for members.
