The new lineup addresses the specific technical hurdles faced by auxiliary systems as electric vehicle architectures move toward higher voltages. By redesigning the internal device structure and edge termination, ROHM achieved a collector-emitter saturation voltage of 1.55V. This reduction in conduction loss occurs alongside high short-circuit tolerance, a critical requirement for circuits that must endure the lag time between overcurrent detection and system shutdown.
The initial rollout includes 12 products in the TO-247N package—the RGAxxTS65HR and RGAxxTS65EHR series—and 10 bare wafer options under the SG83xxWN designation. All components meet the AEC-Q101 automotive reliability standard. ROHM has also confirmed that additional RGAxxTR65HR and RGAxxTR65EHR series units in the TO-247-4L package are currently in development. Looking ahead, the company intends to broaden its catalog with surface-mount TO-263L packages and top-side cooling configurations to further support miniaturization in high-power industrial and automotive applications.
