Kyle Massey Pivots to Stand-Up With Hollywood Comedy Residency

After commanding Disney Channel sitcoms for years, Kyle Massey is trading scripted lines for the raw reality of the stand-up stage. The actor is returning to the Laugh Factory Hollywood on August 26 for a Birthday Comedy Jam, marking his second headlining appearance at the venue following an initial sold-out run.

Massey’s transition into comedy draws heavily on his experiences navigating fame as a child star. He describes his current act as an unfiltered exploration of his life in the spotlight, a departure from the polished characters he played in That’s So Raven and Cory in The House. During his upcoming show, he will be joined by his brother, Chris Massey, and comedian Tiffany Haddish. David Fuhrer, President of the Laugh Factory, compared the audience demand for the brothers to a Beatles-level fervor, noting the venue’s struggle to accommodate the overflow crowds during Massey's debut.

This shift in career trajectory was fueled by the success of his brother, known for his role in Zoey 101, and direct encouragement from comedy veteran Chris Tucker. By stepping away from the constraints of network scripts, Massey says he has found a sense of creative liberation. Following the Hollywood event, the performer is expanding his reach with a scheduled appearance at the Laugh Factory in San Diego on September 7, with further stops planned for Detroit and Orlando. Tickets for the August 26 event remain available for the 9:45 PM performance.
