Horseshoe Bay Resort Breaks Ground on $10 Million Racquet Expansion

The development aims to create a cohesive racquet sports campus, integrating the new padel courts with the resort’s current inventory of six hard tennis courts, six red clay courts, and 14 pickleball courts. Designed by FAB Studio Inc. with landscape architecture by Talley Associates, the new clubhouse is intended to function as a social hub for members and guests. It will feature a central lounge, retail space, and both indoor and outdoor viewing areas, including a 2,632-square-foot covered terrace overlooking the active courts.

This project reinforces the resort’s partnership with the Mouratoglou Tennis Center, the first U.S. location for the global academy brand. According to Randy Zupanski, managing director of the resort, the clubhouse is envisioned as the social heart of the property, reflecting a broader effort to elevate the guest experience. Israel Castillo, the resort’s director of racquet sports, noted that the investment specifically targets the rapid growth of padel, utilizing the specialized glass-and-mesh court infrastructure required for high-level play. The expansion marks a notable addition to the resort’s 7,000-acre footprint, which has seen $350 million in capital improvements over the last decade.
