Mechanical fragility has historically restricted the use of aluminum electrolytic capacitors in high-vibration industrial settings. To resolve this, the Fountain Inn-based manufacturer introduced a design featuring innovative plastic supports and unique termination shapes that expand the available soldering area. This architecture significantly enhances board-mounting strength, allowing the components to function reliably across a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C.
Beyond structural integrity, the series offers high-CV performance in a compact footprint, utilizing liquid electrolyte dielectrics to maintain efficiency. The AEVA series covers five case sizes with voltage ratings up to 100VDC, while the AEVB series provides four sizes optimized for 16–50VDC applications. Both lines boast low ESR and low leakage, with rated lifetimes reaching 5,000 hours at 125°C. As Staff Research Development Engineer Mack Cartagena noted, these engineering choices were specifically calibrated to meet the rigorous demands of modern automated placement and harsh-environment deployment, such as photovoltaic inverters and DC/DC converters.
