Participants toured the 110 kV Chunhui Substation, the nation’s first zero-carbon educational facility, to observe how industrial transformation functions on the ground. Discussions emphasized that technical connectivity, such as the China-Laos 500 kV project, serves as a blueprint for the future. This interconnection has already scaled power-exchange capacity to 1.5 million kW, facilitating the annual delivery of 3 billion kWh of clean electricity.

Beyond infrastructure, the discourse shifted toward the synergy between electricity and computing power. Wang Hai of Nanyang Technological University advocated for a two-way flow between these sectors to maximize efficiency. Meanwhile, experts like Chhoeun Raksmey of Cambodia’s Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation stressed that these transitions rely on a coalition of governments, private firms, and local communities. With the Greater Bay Area targeting a 60 percent green energy mix by 2030, organizers hope to leverage this momentum to establish a regional AI-plus-energy innovation hub.
