The report highlights a rapid decline in the company's environmental footprint, specifically noting an 80% reduction in air and water process emissions of fluorinated organic chemicals (FOCs) over the last seven years. Chemours remains committed to its long-term target of eliminating 99% of these process emissions by the end of the decade. Beyond carbon metrics, the firm reported zero Tier 1 process safety events and zero distribution incidents throughout 2025, launching a new 'We Strive for Zero' internal safety program.
Kathy O'Keefe, Chief Sustainability Officer at Chemours, stated that the results stem from a combination of operational excellence and innovation in specialty chemistry. The company is currently leveraging its Opteon™ low-global-warming-potential refrigerants to support energy-efficient cooling for AI infrastructure, a move designed to assist customers in meeting their own emissions targets. Absolute Scope 3 emissions have also fallen by 30% since 2018, driven largely by wider adoption of these low-impact products across the firm's global supply chain.
