UNIQLO Expands London Presence With New Canary Wharf Store

Japanese retail giant UNIQLO is the latest brand to join the lineup at Canary Wharf, signaling continued growth for the East London destination. The arrival of the global fashion retailer comes as the estate reports near-total occupancy, bolstered by a surge in footfall and a diversifying mix of leisure and retail tenants.

The addition of UNIQLO follows a period of significant momentum for the Canary Wharf Group, which has recently secured leases with brands including Jigsaw, Nokwol, and Holy Greens. According to Stuart Fyfe, Managing Director of Retail, Leisure and Hospitality at CWG, the estate is currently operating at 99% occupancy. This high demand reflects a broader shift in the area, where visitor engagement and time spent on-site have increased throughout the year.

Beyond traditional retail, the district has focused on experiential additions to drive traffic. Notably, the Sea Lanes open-air floating swimming pool, which launched in June, drew over 30,000 visitors in its first month. For the management team at Canary Wharf, attracting established global names like UNIQLO serves to amplify the energy of the precinct, reinforcing its status as a competitive destination within the London market.
