Educators Enter New School Year Balancing AI Adoption with Caution

A survey of 7,345 educators conducted by TPT reveals a profession navigating a complex transition. While 83% of respondents have utilized AI tools to brainstorm ideas and generate instructional resources, these teachers maintain a firm preference for human-created materials. The enthusiasm for digital efficiency is tempered by significant apprehension regarding student outcomes; 94% of teachers expressed concern over AI’s long-term impact on learning, specifically citing risks to critical thinking, writing proficiency, and academic integrity.

Beyond the digital landscape, the human element of teaching remains the primary focus. For the second consecutive year, meeting students' social-emotional and behavioral needs—a concern for 61% of respondents—outweighs academic pressures. Despite these hurdles, educators remain focused on the potential of their students, identifying technological savvy and creativity as defining traits of the current generation.
