ImmunoForge Secures KRW 5 Billion for CNS Drug Delivery Innovation

The project centers on the company’s Leptin receptor-Mediated Transcytosis (LMT) platform. By fusing this with their existing long-acting ELP technology, ImmunoForge aims to create a hybrid lipid nanoparticle (LNP) structure capable of both penetrating the central nervous system and maintaining drug efficacy for up to one month. This dual functionality is designed to address the persistent challenges associated with traditional CNS therapeutics, specifically regarding permeability and side-effect profiles.

Co-CEOs Sung-Min Ahn and Ki-Ho Chang intend to leverage this four-year funding to push the platform through preclinical development. The company is already positioning itself for international expansion, citing a recent victory in a Novo Nordisk Open Innovation contest as validation of their approach. Management reports active discussions with global partners regarding collaborative research involving mRNA, siRNA, and ASO modalities, with the ultimate goal of securing international technology transfer agreements.
