Ericsson repurchases 3 million shares in latest buyback push

Between August 17 and August 21, 2026, Ericsson acquired 2,999,360 of its own Class B shares on Nasdaq Stockholm. The transactions, managed by Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE, totaled approximately 290 million SEK, marking another phase in the company’s ongoing efforts to consolidate its equity position.

These acquisitions were executed at a weighted average price of 96.6970 SEK per share. The activity forms part of a broader 15 billion SEK buyback program initiated on April 16, 2026, which is scheduled to run through March 31, 2027. The company’s Board of Directors intends to seek approval at the 2027 Annual General Meeting to cancel the bulk of these repurchased shares, excluding those reserved for existing employee incentive programs.

Following this week's activity, Ericsson now holds 100,668,676 treasury shares. The total share count stands at 3,371,351,735, comprising 261,755,983 Class A and 3,109,595,752 Class B shares. All transactions complied with the European Union's Market Abuse Regulation and the Safe Harbour framework.
