Oasis Fans Criticize Disney Documentary Trailer as Misleading

Disney’s first look at the Oasis comeback documentary, Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger, has triggered a wave of fan frustration. Rather than highlighting the triumph of the band’s sold-out Live ’25 tour, the promo focuses heavily on the historical friction and volatile rivalry between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.

The trailer, released to promote the documentary's upcoming September 11 IMAX debut and subsequent Disney+ streaming release, leans into the band’s darker history. It features shadowy rehearsal clips and audio snippets of Noel questioning the viability of their reunion, with one segment capturing him asking if the tour would fall apart again. This editorial choice struck many viewers as disjointed or poorly edited, leading some to jokingly speculate that the studio had uploaded the wrong version of the film's trailer.

Despite the online backlash, the documentary aims to capture the scale of the band’s return, which spanned Europe, North America, Asia, Australia, and South America. For many fans who attended the performances, such as the July 4, 2025, show in Cardiff, the reality of the tour was far more celebratory than the trailer suggests. While the band is currently on a hiatus—with Liam Gallagher confirming no live dates for 2026 and pointing toward a potential return in 2027—the documentary serves as a chronicle of their massive, if contentious, musical legacy.
