Coordinated Care Launches Nine-Day Mobile Health Tour Across Washington

Equipped with specialized mobile clinics, Coordinated Care is embarking on a nine-day tour across Washington to provide free vision and dental services. The initiative aims to reach rural and under-resourced populations, bypassing traditional healthcare barriers by delivering screenings and corrective gear directly to local communities without requiring prior appointments.

The tour centers on two mobile units: "SeeMore," which provides vision screenings and prescription eyewear, and "Flossy," which offers dental exams and fluoride treatments for children and adults. Services are available to the general public regardless of insurance status, operating on a first-come, first-served basis. Coordinated Care CEO Beth Johnson noted that the program intends to decouple geography from quality of care, ensuring that families in isolated areas receive proactive health maintenance.

Beyond basic screenings, the organization is collaborating with local partners to bundle health services with social support. At various stops, attendees can access fresh produce, blood pressure checks, and school supplies. In Spokane, the Centene Foundation is distributing essential items like diapers and formula to families affected by recent wildfires. The tour concludes in Yakima, where Seattle Seahawks legend Walter Jones will host a giveaway of 1,000 pairs of shoes for students. Daily capacity for the mobile units is capped at approximately 40 dental and 200 vision screenings per location.
