The collaboration seeks to streamline the optical retail experience by combining diagnostic technology with immediate shopping. Customers utilize the kiosk for a vision test that integrates optical imaging and proprietary technology, with final prescriptions reviewed and signed by a licensed eye doctor. According to Tim Fern, Chief Commercial Officer at Eyebot, the goal is to eliminate the friction caused by outdated prescriptions that often delay purchase decisions.
For QUAY, the move represents a push toward a more seamless omnichannel environment. Katherine Cousins, CEO of QUAY, noted that the kiosks allow patrons to update their clinical requirements and select fashion-forward frames during a single visit. By removing the need to schedule separate appointments, the partners intend to make the transition from vision testing to frame selection an integrated part of the retail journey.
