Appearing on the Today show’s Citi Summer Concert Series on August 20, the 28-year-old explained that she is fundamentally bored with her current songwriting perspective. Having spent years documenting failed relationships and loneliness, she is determined to pivot toward a different narrative. She has already settled on a title for the future project: And Then She Fell in Love.
When pressed by hosts on whether she would refrain from releasing new music until she is married, RAYE confirmed her commitment to the timeline. While Al Roker suggested she might find a partner sooner than a decade, the singer remained steadfast, viewing the wait as a necessary period to live through life’s twists and turns. This follows a similar stance she took on TikTok, where she expressed a refusal to write another song about being single or dealing with an ex-partner. For now, the artist plans to step back from the recording process to focus on personal experiences rather than professional output.
