TopHat Security Secures Series A Funding to Bolster Critical Infrastructure

Atlanta-based TopHat Security has closed a Series A financing round led by Landolt Securities to scale its cybersecurity defenses for government agencies and industrial systems. The capital infusion targets the expansion of the company’s O-RANGE platform, a digital twin technology designed to simulate and protect high-stakes operational technology environments.

The O-RANGE platform allows operators to construct high-fidelity digital twins of industrial plants and control systems. By mirroring assets, firmware, and network relationships in a virtual setting, security teams can model attack paths and test remediation strategies without risking production downtime. This capability addresses a growing gap in the industrial sector, where organizations often struggle to translate raw vulnerability data into actionable operational safety measures.

Matt Caldwell, founder and CEO of TopHat Security, noted that the platform provides a safe environment for teams to rehearse cyber kill chains before implementing changes to live facilities. Beyond O-RANGE, the company maintains a broader portfolio focused on cyber supply-chain security and the protection of emerging AI infrastructure. Don McKiernan, a principal at Landolt Securities, cited the company’s rapid execution and technical innovation as primary drivers for the investment, emphasizing that securing these systems is essential to national security.

This funding follows the company's recent technical showcase at DEF CON 34 in Las Vegas, where Caldwell presented research on the scale of global industrial control system vulnerabilities. With the new capital, TopHat aims to accelerate customer delivery and refine its ability to prioritize security actions based on cost, safety, and operational impact.
