Alex Miller Named President of EMJ Construction

Alex Miller has been elevated to the presidency of EMJ Construction, a move designed to sharpen the firm’s national trajectory. Based in Chattanooga, Miller will manage the company’s expansive client base while navigating the broader strategic realignments currently underway at parent organization BLDR Holdings.

Miller takes the helm as BLDR Holdings refines its portfolio structure, distinguishing between national reach and localized market focus. While EMJ continues its work as a national commercial contractor, the parent company is simultaneously scaling TEXBUILT to capture specific opportunities within Texas. According to BLDR Holdings CEO Jack Bowen, this dual-track strategy allows each entity to leverage its unique strengths more effectively.

In his new capacity, Miller will collaborate with an established leadership group to maintain project execution standards. His immediate team includes Chris Grannan and Joey Barbeauld, who oversee preconstruction and construction operations, alongside Lance Gopffarth, who directs the company’s Phoenix office. Miller emphasized that his priority remains leveraging the firm’s long-standing client relationships and internal expertise to sustain its national footprint.
