Sensorium Therapeutics to Unveil Phase 1a Anxiety Drug Data

Cambridge-based Sensorium Therapeutics will present initial clinical results for SNTX-2643, its lead anxiety treatment, at the upcoming Psych Congress 2026 in New Orleans. The data, expected this September, details the safety and pharmacodynamic profile of the first-in-class serotonin modulator during its ongoing Phase 1a study in healthy adults.

The upcoming poster presentation, scheduled for September 17 and 18 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, will highlight findings from several cohorts within the Phase 1a trial. Lead author Dr. Colville Brown and a team of researchers will share results regarding the drug's pharmacokinetic performance, as well as target engagement data derived from an anxiety-inducing video paradigm designed to test the compound’s activity in the central nervous system.

SNTX-2643, the flagship candidate of the company’s SENS-01 program, aims to address social and generalized anxiety disorders while overcoming limitations found in current standard-of-care medications. Unlike traditional benzodiazepines and SSRIs, the drug is engineered as a state-selective serotonin modulator to provide rapid onset without the common side effects of sedation. The Phase 1a study, which remains the primary focus of the upcoming disclosure, utilized a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled design to establish the safety and tolerability baseline necessary for future clinical development.
