Sur-Seal Rebrands as Cohesive Components Under New Ownership

Charlotte-based manufacturer Sur-Seal has officially rebranded as Cohesive Components, marking a strategic pivot following its acquisition by Brodie Generational Capital Partners in December 2025. The name change signals a long-term commitment to scaling the business through expanded material capabilities and a strengthened workforce across its Ohio and Michigan manufacturing sites.

The company, which employs approximately 400 people, specializes in complex material conversion processes such as die cutting, laminating, and slitting. By shifting to the Cohesive Components identity, the firm aims to emphasize its role in delivering high-performance, production-ready solutions for its blue-chip customer base. The leadership team remains in place to oversee this growth, supported by the capital and operational experience of its new parent firm.

Jacob Brodie, President and COO of Brodie Generational Capital Partners, described the acquisition as a multigenerational project rather than a short-term investment. Drawing on the family's history of building the specialty chemicals firm Purolite over four decades, Brodie emphasized that the firm intends to support existing leadership rather than disrupt established workflows. Plans for the immediate future include scaling converting capacity and investing in advanced material technologies to ensure the company remains competitive in the industrial and life sciences sectors.
