Nantucket Music Foundation Scales Up Concert Series at The Muse

A 375-capacity dive bar thirty miles into the Atlantic is hosting 44 national touring acts this summer, as the Nantucket Music Foundation expands its concert series. The project, backed by vineyard vines and Nantucket Crisps, aims to bridge socioeconomic divides while raising critical funds for local behavioral health services.

The initiative transforms the historic Muse venue into a bridge for the island’s disparate populations, uniting year-round residents, service workers, and summer visitors through an eclectic mix of alternative rock, pop, and indie music. Foundation founder Hayden Arnot emphasized that the goal is to strip away performance barriers, placing arena-level headliners in an intimate room where the audience remains physically close to the artists.

This year’s expanded roster includes notable acts such as The Head and The Heart, Dashboard Confessional, and Jimmy Eat World. To ensure the events remain accessible, the Foundation subsidizes ticket prices for locals and provides complimentary entry for first responders and essential workers. Beyond the music, the series serves as a fundraising engine for Fairwinds, the island’s primary behavioral health center. According to the Foundation, 5% of all funds raised through the concerts are donated directly to support the center’s mental health outreach programs. The summer schedule also features free community performances from bands like the Spin Doctors and Boys Like Girls.
