UATP Adds dLocal to Expand Airline Payment Reach in Emerging Markets

Airlines using the UATP One merchant services platform now have access to local payment infrastructure across Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. The partnership with cross-border processor dLocal aims to simplify transactions in high-growth regions where local payment methods are critical for booking conversion and revenue.

UATP One provides a single gateway for airlines and travel merchants to navigate complex payment landscapes. By integrating dLocal, UATP expands its acquiring capabilities into more than 60 countries, allowing carriers to bypass the need for building independent payment operations in every jurisdiction. This infrastructure is designed to reduce transaction costs and risk while facilitating smoother Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) flows.

Emerging markets remain the primary focus for global aviation expansion, with Boeing projecting passenger traffic growth in South Asia and Southeast Asia to outpace global averages through 2044. dLocal connects merchants to over 1,000 local payment methods, addressing the specific preferences of travelers in these regions. For dLocal, the agreement grants direct access to UATP’s extensive network of airlines and corporate travel buyers, creating a streamlined channel for processing large-scale transaction volumes. The partnership is currently active, with both firms planning to scale coverage based on client demand.
