The new product, trading under the symbol UNITREEUSD, joins Vantage’s existing portfolio of derivatives linked to OpenAI and Anthropic. While the instrument mimics price fluctuations, it grants no ownership, voting rights, or dividends in the underlying company. Marc Despallieres, CEO of Vantage Markets, noted that demand is shifting toward frontier AI and robotics as high-growth firms remain private for longer periods, often opting for domestic exchanges over traditional global venues.
Unitree’s actual IPO on the Shanghai STAR Market has highlighted the difficulty of accessing high-demand Chinese technology shares. Priced at RMB150.80 per share, the offering reached a valuation of roughly RMB61 billion. Retail interest was intense, with the offering oversubscribed more than 8,000 times and a final retail allocation rate of just 0.018%. Because the listing is restricted to the STAR Market, offshore retail investors typically cannot participate directly, leaving derivative products like those offered by Vantage as a primary alternative for global market participants.
