Desert Financial Credit Union Secures National Bank On Certification

The Desert Safe Spend Account avoids common pitfalls like overdraft or nonsufficient fund fees while providing essential transaction capabilities and federal deposit insurance. Priced at $4.95 per month, the fee is waived for members who maintain at least $250 in qualifying direct deposits. The product is currently available across all 51 of the credit union’s Arizona branches.

Jeff Meshey, CEO and president of Desert Financial, noted that the account aims to remove barriers for members who need reliable financial management tools. The Bank On certification aligns with a broader national effort to integrate unbanked populations into the financial mainstream. According to the CFE Fund, certified accounts now represent two-thirds of the national deposit market share, with millions of consumers utilizing these products to build financial stability.
