The collaboration began not in a recording studio, but on TikTok during the pandemic. Bonding over a shared connection to Shrek the Musical, the duo transitioned from online acquaintances to studio partners. McCain, best known for his double-platinum hit I’ll Be, admitted the song choice was driven by Glickman’s ear for strong melodies, despite the track falling outside his typical wheelhouse. The project is being finalized with producer Jason LaRocca, who identified the duet as a standout moment on the forthcoming record.
To capture the visual component, the pair staged performances on various city rooftops, including a visible set atop Universal Liquor on Cahuenga Boulevard. This project arrives as Glickman pivots further into his music career, building on the momentum of his viral cover of Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy, which previously cracked the Billboard charts and earned him an opening slot for CeeLo Green. Following a 73-show world tour with the Big Time Rush cast, Glickman is now focusing on this series of dramatic reinterpretations.
