The collaboration integrates Global Innovations Bank into Afriex’s B2B PaymentsAPI, providing firms with Global USD Account access and enhanced treasury capabilities. This move builds on Afriex’s existing network, which includes established partnerships with Choice Bank in Kenya and United Bank for Africa in Nigeria. By layering these banking connections, Afriex intends to provide a modular foundation for fintechs and payroll companies to launch international products without the burden of constructing local infrastructure.
Tope Alabi, founder and CEO of Afriex, noted that the partnership addresses the technical complexities inherent in global money movement. Alex Goody, Chief Product Officer at Global Innovations Bank, cited Afriex’s disciplined compliance program as a key driver for the alliance. Effective since Q2 2026, the agreement positions Afriex to introduce further foreign exchange and global account services over the coming year, reinforcing its goal to serve as a primary financial infrastructure layer for global enterprise.
