The appointment comes as B&M modernizes its infrastructure to remain competitive in a fast-moving retail landscape. The new lead will report directly to Williams, tasked with building a high-performing team and refining the company's approach to data strategy. This strategic push follows a major rollout of new Point of Sale systems across the retailer’s UK estate.
Partnering with PMC and Flooid, B&M has spent the year replacing legacy hardware to reduce till friction and improve transaction speeds. The project, which began in January and is set for completion this month, has been praised by internal management for its operational agility. By integrating more robust checkout technology alongside its new AI-focused leadership, the retailer aims to bridge the gap between its physical store footprint and evolving customer expectations.
