Jessica Lange headlines the returning roster, marking a significant return to the series after more than a decade away. She will reprise four distinct characters, including Constance Langdon and Fiona Goode. The homecoming extends to other staples of the Murphy-verse: Evan Peters is slated to revisit five past roles, while Sarah Paulson will step back into six. The ensemble also includes Angela Bassett as Marie Laveau, Emma Roberts as Madison Montgomery, and John Carroll Lynch as the unsettling Twisty the Clown.
While the season functions as a collision of past villains, it introduces fresh narrative threads through new cast members, including Paul Anthony Kelly, who Murphy identifies as the story’s linchpin. The production arrives on September 24 via FX and Hulu. Notably absent is Ariana Grande, whose departure was confirmed as a byproduct of scheduling conflicts with her Eternal Sunshine Tour. Murphy dismissed rumors of friction regarding her exit, noting that the collaboration was simply pushed to a future cycle to accommodate her touring commitments.
