Planet Fitness Faces Class Action After 31% Stock Plunge

Investors who purchased Planet Fitness shares between November 2025 and May 2026 are now eligible to join a class action lawsuit filed in New Hampshire. The litigation follows a sharp 31.19% drop in share price triggered by a sudden reset of the company's financial guidance last May.

The legal action targets Planet Fitness, Inc., alongside former CEO Colleen Keating and former CFO Jay Stasz. Plaintiffs allege that leadership misled the market by inflating expectations regarding membership growth, the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, and the anticipated revenue from Black Card price increases. According to the complaint, these statements were incorporated into the company's three-year growth algorithm, creating an artificial valuation that collapsed when the truth surfaced.

The lawsuit, filed under the Exchange Act, centers on the accountability of senior executives for public disclosures. Joseph E. Levi, the attorney representing the class, argues that the company’s internal projections were disconnected from reality, leaving shareholders to shoulder the burden of the subsequent market correction. Investors have until September 14, 2026, to apply for the role of lead plaintiff, a position that oversees the direction of the litigation. Participation in the suit does not require out-of-pocket costs, as the firm operates on a contingency fee basis.
