Potomac Bank Taps Carolyn K. Johnson for Digital Strategy Leadership

Carolyn K. Johnson has stepped into the role of Senior Vice President and Director of Digital and Payment Strategy at Potomac Bank, tasked with refining the institution’s approach to customer-facing financial technology. The appointment marks a strategic push to modernize payment systems and digital banking security across the bank’s service footprint.

Johnson arrives at the Charles Town-based bank with more than ten years of experience in retail banking and market strategy. Most recently, she held the position of Retail Market Executive at LINKBANK. Her previous career highlights include a tenure as Chief Retail Operations Officer for Virginia Partners Bank and a background in branch management at PNC. An alumna of the University of Mary Washington, where she earned both an MBA and a BS in Business Administration, Johnson has been recognized for her industry contributions, including a 2019 inclusion in the Independent Community Bankers of America 40 Under 40 list. Beyond her corporate responsibilities, she remains active in Virginia-based community organizations, including the Marine Corps Marathon and Gwyneth's Gift Foundation. Potomac Bank, which manages $981 million in total assets, operates nine branches across West Virginia, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
