Kroger appoints Jet.com co-founder Nate Faust to lead e-commerce

Kroger has tapped veteran retail executive Nate Faust to serve as its new Executive Vice President and Chief e-Commerce Officer, effective September 1. Faust, a co-founder of Jet.com, joins the grocery giant to accelerate its digital transformation by leveraging his extensive background in supply chain and customer-centric delivery models.

Faust joins Kroger following a career defined by building large-scale digital platforms. Most recently, he led operations at Olive, where he developed waste-free delivery and return systems for various consumer brands. His previous tenure at Jet.com—which Walmart acquired in 2016—saw him manage core merchandising and fulfillment, including the development of the efficiency-focused Smart Cart model. Following the acquisition, he transitioned into a leadership role as Senior Vice President of Walmart U.S. eCommerce Supply Chain.

Kroger CEO Greg Foran cited Faust’s track record in speed and value as the primary driver for the appointment. For his part, Faust emphasized that the retailer’s existing footprint and proprietary loyalty data offer a distinct competitive advantage. He plans to focus on deepening customer relationships and refining the digital shopping experience to maintain growth in the company's online operations.
