According to his filing in Manhattan Supreme Court, the conflict began when he contacted Baldoni’s crisis manager, Melissa Nathan, to clarify statements made by Lively’s publicist, Leslie Sloane. Vituscka claims these exchanges were stripped of context in subsequent legal filings, leading to a breakdown in his relationship with the Daily Mail.
Vituscka alleges the newspaper pressured him to sign a declaration expressing regret for his actions and discouraged him from seeking independent legal counsel. He claims his termination in June 2025 was a direct result of the ensuing workplace friction. The Daily Mail has rejected these accusations, labeling the lawsuit as an inaccurate account and maintaining that the declaration Vituscka signed was consistent with his prior disclosures to senior management.
Simultaneously, the broader legal friction between the two actors continues to churn. Lively is currently pursuing approximately $8 million in legal fees and expenses following the dismissal of Baldoni’s lawsuit. This financial demand has sparked further courtroom maneuvering, including a recent, contested attempt by PR consultant Jed Wallace to depose the actress regarding the recovery of these costs.
