iFoodDS Sharpens Focus on Trace Exchange Following Unit Divestiture

Seattle-based iFoodDS is pivoting its corporate strategy to prioritize the expansion of Trace Exchange, its digital platform for supply chain visibility. The company finalized the divestiture of its Quality Insights business to Foods Connected, a move intended to concentrate resources on traceability innovation and network connectivity for food industry partners.

The sale of the Quality Insights unit to Foods Connected marks a departure from iFoodDS’ broader software portfolio to focus exclusively on the Trace Exchange ecosystem. Foods Connected, which maintains a global footprint with backing from Apax Partners, will integrate the Quality Insights assets into its own compliance and quality inspection services. iFoodDS CEO Scott Mathews stated that the transition ensures existing customers receive continued support while allowing his firm to double down on regulatory readiness and data exchange capabilities. As food companies face mounting pressure to navigate complex safety requirements, iFoodDS intends to channel increased investment into product development and ecosystem partnerships. This consolidation of focus aims to bolster the company's ability to provide granular supply chain insights, ensuring that trading partners can respond more effectively to industry-wide compliance challenges and safety mandates.
