PrimeSource Brands Acquires Fastener Specialist Starborn Industries

Starborn Industries has built a reputation on proprietary, IP-protected product lines including PRO PLUG, CAP-TOR xd, and DECKFAST. By offering integrated installation kits rather than individual components, the company established a significant footprint in the outdoor living market. For PrimeSource Brands, the acquisition adds a premium layer of innovation to its existing network, which spans 64 sites across 26 states and serves over 56,000 customer locations.

BlackArch served as the exclusive financial advisor for the transaction, leveraging its experience within the building products sector to manage the sale. Paul Gertner, President of Starborn Industries, noted that finding a buyer capable of respecting the company's multi-generational heritage was a primary objective during the selection process. The move aligns with Clearlake Capital’s broader strategy of acquiring specialized firms to bolster its portfolio, which currently manages over $185 billion in assets. With this integration, Starborn moves from an independent family-led operation to a key component of PrimeSource’s expansive national distribution platform.
