Speridian Launches Medicaid Compliance Tool Ahead of 2027 Deadline

Most state eligibility systems were built for annual income determinations rather than the granular, monthly tracking required by H.R. 1. This technological mismatch creates a significant risk of administrative error, potentially leading to improper payments or the accidental removal of eligible residents from coverage. Speridian’s Community Engagement Verification Solution (CEVS) aims to bridge this gap by integrating directly with existing databases to automate verification workflows.

Brian Donohoe, head of Health and Human Services at Speridian, noted that the software addresses a critical accuracy problem by routing only unverifiable cases to human workers. By automating ex parte verification and establishing a configurable rules engine for exemptions, the platform allows agencies to adapt to federal guidance as it evolves. According to Chief Business Officer Steve Middlekauff, the goal is to help states meet these federal mandates without ballooning administrative budgets or disrupting the core operations that currently support families and caregivers.
