Local Bounti Reports Q2 Growth and Secures New Strategic Capital

Indoor agriculture firm Local Bounti narrowed its quarterly net loss to $19.8 million as revenue climbed 14% to $13.9 million. The Hamilton-based company, which services roughly 13,000 retail locations, also secured a fresh $12.5 million investment from an existing strategic partner to bolster its path toward profitability.

CEO Kathleen Valiasek pointed to operational gains as the primary driver for the improved financial performance. The company reported a 17% narrowing in adjusted EBITDA loss, a result of enhanced facility yields and tighter cost controls. Productivity at its state-of-the-art sites rose by approximately 10%, while strategic investments in California facilities are beginning to yield similar efficiency gains. This operational momentum has been bolstered by the expansion of relationships with blue-chip retailers and the extension of supply agreements through early 2027.

Looking ahead, Local Bounti is shifting its commercial strategy to lean into the growing demand for food safety and traceability. The company plans to pilot a relaunched Single Serve Salad Kit line in the Mid-Atlantic this fall, targeting 400 stores. While the firm remains focused on achieving positive adjusted EBITDA, management is leveraging its recent capital infusion to maintain its expansion trajectory and optimize its Stack & Flow technology across its facility network.
