First International Bank of Israel Reports Q2 2026 Financial Results

The First International Bank of Israel (FIBI) posted a net income of NIS 583 million for the second quarter of 2026, marking a 21.5% increase over the previous quarter despite broader macroeconomic shifts. The bank’s board responded to the performance by approving a dividend distribution of approximately NIS 558 million.

The bank’s return on equity reached 16.0%, or 17.8% when excluding the impact of a special tax levy imposed this year. While the quarterly profit saw a 21.5% rise compared to the first quarter, it represented an 8.5% decrease from the same period in 2025. For the first half of 2026, net income totaled NIS 1,063 million, down 8.9% year-over-year.

Credit to the public expanded significantly, growing 20.1% compared to the prior-year period to reach NIS 164.2 billion, a trend driven largely by the financial services sector. Simultaneously, the bank improved its asset quality, as the ratio of non-accruing loans fell to 0.40%. CEO Eli Cohen attributed the results to a focus on multidisciplinary expertise and the integration of digital tools, noting that the bank maintains a strong capital adequacy ratio of 10.87%. The approved dividend accounts for roughly 96% of the quarterly net income, reflecting an active approach to capital management.
