Holler-Classic Automotive Acquires Four South Carolina Dealerships

The Holler-Classic Automotive group has expanded its footprint into South Carolina with the acquisition of four Dick Smith Automotive properties. The transaction, which includes three Nissan dealerships and one INFINITI location, marks a significant consolidation as the long-standing Dick Smith family business transitions its remaining local assets to the Orlando-based firm.

The deal involves Nissan locations in St. Andrews, Lexington, and Columbia, alongside a Columbia-based INFINITI showroom. These sites will be rebranded under the Holler name, growing the buyer’s portfolio to over 17 locations. For the Smith family, the sale follows a 2025 divestment of their Hyundai franchise in Greenville, signaling a strategic retreat from the South Carolina market.

Brian Smith, president of the family-owned Dick Smith group, cited confidentiality and long-term employee stability as primary drivers for the sale. The transaction was facilitated by Performance Brokerage Services, marking a repeat collaboration between the firm and the Smith family. George C. Chaconas, Weldon Mann, and Jimmy Robinson managed the sell-side advisory, closing a deal that involves complex multi-point transfers.

Holler-Classic Automotive, led by Roger Holler III, traces its origins to 1938 and the legacy of William E. Holler, a former Chevrolet executive. By integrating these four South Carolina assets, the company transitions from its Florida-centric operations into a broader regional player. The dealerships will continue to operate at their existing addresses under new signage: Holler Nissan of Columbia, Holler INFINITI of Columbia, Holler Nissan of St. Andrews, and Holler Nissan of Lexington.
