The integration allows Spark teams to record incidents more efficiently while providing management with visibility into crime trends across its retail estate. According to Mandy Tomlinson, General Manager of Consumer Channels at Spark, the move is focused on staff safety and refining internal processes to ensure a more effective response to criminal activity when police intervention is necessary.
Auror’s technology has already gained traction in the UK, where grocery retailer Asda reported significant operational improvements following a pilot program in 30 London stores. The trial demonstrated an 80% reduction in incident reporting time and a 55% increase in crime prevention rates. By joining the Auror network, Spark New Zealand gains access to a shared intelligence pool, enabling the company to track cross-retailer offenders and focus security resources on the minority of individuals responsible for the majority of retail incidents.
