Artemis Adolescent Healing Center Introduces PILLARS Family Support

When a teenager completes residential treatment, the recovery process often stalls at the front door. To bridge this gap, the Tucson-based Artemis Adolescent Healing Center has launched PILLARS, a specialized program designed to equip parents with the clinical tools and emotional support necessary to sustain their child's progress at home.

Residential care frequently centers on the adolescent, leaving families to navigate the complexities of reconnection without a roadmap. Parents often struggle to balance new boundaries with the need for emotional intimacy, inadvertently slipping into old conflict cycles. PILLARS aims to disrupt these patterns by integrating parent education, targeted skills training, and family therapy into a cohesive post-treatment framework.

Chief Clinical Officer Shawna Beckman, who brings two decades of clinical experience to the initiative, emphasizes that recovery is not an isolated event. By providing parents with practical strategies for daily interactions, the program seeks to transform the home environment from a source of stress into a foundation for stability. The initiative ensures that families move beyond the clinical setting with a clear, supported path forward rather than relying on guesswork during a vulnerable transition period.
