The R-dog concept addresses the persistent "last 100 meters" problem where standard autonomous delivery vehicles struggle. Equipped with four legs, the robot is engineered to traverse complex physical environments, including residential thresholds and crowded office lobbies. The machine features a versatile internal compartment capable of holding multiple items, such as food orders and e-commerce parcels, allowing it to handle diverse delivery tasks without hardware modifications.
Beyond logistics, the platform serves as a mobile advertising vehicle through the company’s R-ads suite. Each unit includes dual video screens that display interactive content, designed to draw engagement from passersby in high-traffic urban areas. The robot relies on Field Foundation Models from partner FieldAI to manage its autonomy, ensuring the machine can interpret unpredictable environments and operate safely without human intervention.
CEO Felipe Chavez Cortes noted that the company’s existing infrastructure allowed them to integrate the quadruped design without rebuilding their operational stack. With over 500 robots already deployed across North America and the Middle East, the company has completed more than 2.5 million tasks. While currently a concept, Robot.com plans to move R-dog into commercial deployment by 2027.
