Go Raw Secures Non-UPF Status for Sprouted Pumpkin Seeds

Shoppers navigating the snack aisle face a labyrinth of labels, but a new standard aims to simplify the search. Northbrook-based Go Raw has secured independent Non-UPF Verification for its Organic Sea Salt Sprouted Pumpkin Seeds, marking a shift toward greater transparency for minimally processed, plant-based foods in the national market.

The Non-UPF Verified program, an initiative spearheaded by the Non-GMO Project, offers an objective benchmark for identifying foods free from excessive industrial processing. By earning this distinction, Go Raw reinforces a two-decade commitment to clean-label production. Starting in November, the brand will begin rolling out refreshed packaging featuring the new seal, signaling a broader strategy to apply the certification across its entire product portfolio.

CEO Peter Grumhaus emphasized that the verification validates existing company standards rather than mandating changes to their recipes. For a brand built on the premise that snacks should rely on recognizable ingredients rather than artificial shortcuts, the label serves as a tool to cut through complex food industry jargon. As consumers increasingly scrutinize the difference between simple, sprouted seeds and ultra-processed alternatives, this move positions the company at the forefront of a growing movement toward radical ingredient transparency.
