The index evaluates organizations based on verified government funding and demonstrable field capability rather than voluntary applications. EeroQ earned its inclusion within the Sensing, Spectrum & Advanced Compute vertical, positioning its work alongside advancements in autonomous systems, space technology, and cyber defense. The project, which accounts for over $14 billion in government commitments, involved contributions from firms including Ankura Consulting and Silicon Valley Bank.
EeroQ focuses on quantum processors utilizing electrons trapped on superfluid helium. By designing this architecture for compatibility with existing CMOS fabrication lines, the company aims to scale toward millions of qubits with lower resource requirements than traditional methods. CEO Nick Farina noted that the recognition validates the company's efforts to integrate quantum technology into the next generation of allied security infrastructure. This hardware-centric approach is intended to enhance national capabilities in complex areas like cryptography, simulation, and advanced sensing.
