QYSEA Targets Autonomous Underwater Networks for Second Decade

Marking its tenth anniversary, Shenzhen-based robotics firm QYSEA has outlined a strategic shift toward intelligent underwater task systems. The company plans to move beyond mere observation, aiming to build autonomous, networked robotic swarms capable of modeling complex environments and executing intricate maintenance missions without constant human intervention.

Over the past decade, QYSEA has expanded from a niche manufacturer to a global presence operating in more than 130 countries. Its initial growth phase prioritized accessibility through compact, six-degree-of-freedom designs, while the second stage integrated modular payloads and specialized software for professional inspection and surveying tasks. With 120 patents now under its belt, the firm has deployed its technology across diverse sectors, ranging from offshore energy infrastructure in the Middle East to salmon farming operations in Norway and Chile.

CEO Belinda Zhang emphasized that the next evolutionary step for the company lies in the data loop between missions. By synthesizing physical environment mapping with autonomous execution, the company intends to standardize underwater asset management. This transition aims to replace manual, high-risk operations with scalable, AI-driven systems that learn from each deployment to improve safety and operational consistency in challenging maritime environments.
