H&MV Engineering secures €1.4 billion valuation in funding deal

Limerick-based H&MV Engineering has reached a €1.4 billion valuation following a €750 million continuation vehicle transaction led by private equity firm Exponent. The deal brings in new investment from Apollo S3, Pantheon, and SQ Capital to accelerate the firm’s international expansion and support its ambitious growth targets.

The capital injection marks a significant milestone for the high-voltage engineering specialist, which has seen its revenue surge from €61 million in 2020 to an anticipated €1 billion for the 2026 fiscal year. This financial backing is set to fuel the company's U.S. strategy, including the launch of a North American headquarters in Dallas later this year, alongside planned strategic acquisitions and large-scale recruitment. H&MV currently manages a €2 billion order book and a €16 billion project pipeline, positioning itself to capitalize on the global demand for critical power infrastructure driven by data centers and the energy transition.

CEO P.J. Flanagan stated the investment provides the long-term stability required to scale operations in line with current market demand. The company aims to reach €3 billion in annual revenue within five years while expanding its global workforce from the current 1,900 employees to 3,000. Exponent, which has supported H&MV since 2020, will remain a key partner as the firm integrates its new financial backers. The transaction is expected to finalize in September 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
