Archer Aviation to Acquire Boeing Subsidiaries in Physical AI Push

The acquisition brings a substantial defense business into Archer's portfolio, anchored by Insitu, which currently generates over $200 million in annual revenue and maintains operations across 35 countries. By integrating Wisk’s autonomous flight technology, SkyGrid’s air traffic management software, and Insitu’s uncrewed systems, Archer aims to bolster its proprietary ZEE artificial intelligence platform. Founder and CEO Adam Goldstein described the agreement as a watershed moment for the firm, signaling a shift toward a more diversified and scalable revenue model.

Boeing will retain a stake in Archer, ensuring it maintains a footprint in the advanced aviation market while streamlining its own focus on core business operations. Under the terms of the collaboration, Boeing will continue to leverage Wisk’s autonomous flight capabilities for its own commercial and defense aircraft programs. The transaction is subject to standard regulatory approvals and is expected to close by the end of 2026.
