Sandra Gibbs joins Coles Group to lead supply chain operations

Gibbs arrives at Coles with an extensive background in FMCG, having most recently served as Group Chief Supply Chain Officer for Asahi Beverages in Oceania. Her expertise in managing complex, end-to-end supply chains is expected to play a critical role in the retailer's ongoing operational strategy.

Her appointment follows a period of significant leadership transitions within the Coles executive team. Earlier this year, Chief Technology Officer Mike Sackman departed the company after one year in the role, prompting Chief Operating Officer Matt Swindells to step in as acting CTO. Sackman, who previously held senior positions at John Lewis Partnership and Waitrose, was credited with advancing the group's technology agenda, including the implementation of AI tools such as ChatGPT Enterprise and Copilot, as well as strengthening cyber security protocols.
