This environment has allowed the company to refine its loan portfolio and prioritize the resolution of approximately $900 million in underperforming assets by year-end. The company intends to shift the capital recovered from these resolutions into higher-yielding opportunities across its business lines.
President Jeffrey DiModica highlighted the firm's active investment pace, with $6.7 billion deployed through July at double-digit returns on equity. Recent corporate debt transactions totaling $2.1 billion have extended the company’s weighted average debt maturity to 3.7 years while simultaneously reducing the overall cost of funds. Beyond its financial performance, Starwood Property Trust recently secured the Nareit Gold Investor CARE Award, marking its 10th recognition in 12 years for shareholder engagement.
