The Data & AI segment provided the quarter's primary highlight, recording $13.5 million in bookings and a 7.2% sequential revenue increase. This recovery signals the first growth period for the segment since 2024, supported by a new strategic AI deployment engagement with a major U.S. convenience store retailer. CEO Nirav Patel noted that the firm’s pivot to an AI-first service model is beginning to yield measurable traction despite broader market headwinds.
Conversely, the Talent segment continues to face pressure from top-tier client insourcing and a strategic exit from lower-margin positions. The division reported a 16.2% revenue decline compared to the same period last year, alongside a 22.3% drop in billable consultants. Despite these volume challenges, the company maintained a strong average bill rate of $92.17, underscoring a disciplined focus on revenue quality. Mastech Digital ended the quarter with $56.0 million in liquidity and no bank debt, providing a stable foundation as management continues to execute its transformation plan through the remainder of the year.
